The parchment
The reflections on the storage and disposition of information that give libraries meaning are not recent. Throughout history, they have been adapted, promoted and accompanied by social and technological transformations.
In the image, a character taken from the 19th century engravings of Tommaso Piroli (which in turn is based on the paintings of the ancient Roman city of Herculaneum) is reading a parchment. However, the document has been transformed into a kind of electronic tablet that projects its own digitalized image. Thus, our inquirer appears studying herself in a self-reflective attitude, where historical time is represented as an element of contrast and similarity.
